Surface Water Management Web Application Development Project
Snohomish Surface Water Management works with its community to “protect and enhance water quality and aquatic habitats, to minimize damage from flooding and erosion, and to preserve a water resource legacy for future generations.” To support these efforts, Snohomish County wanted a way to share surface water data with internal and external stakeholders. The County selected Windsor Solutions to design and develop an integrated database and online reporting application to be used by internal staff and the general public. Windsor worked with Snohomish County to conduct requirements-gathering workshops and develop a site architecture that focused on ease of use.
Results that Reward
The resulting application supports textual and graphical representations of data from stream gages, rain gages, and stream and lake quality monitoring sites. At the heart of Windsor's design is a point-and-click map that enables users to drill down and clearly identify hydrologic sites of interest. Once users have selected a surface water location, they can generate reports based on selected parameters and date ranges.
